PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Regardless of the type of cooling system, closed, open or once through, the process water needs conditioning in order to avoid fouling, scaling and corrosion. Reliable adjustment of the cooling water pH is part of the treatment program. Conventionally mineral acids like Sulphuric or Chlorine acid as well as organic acids like Acetic acid are used for this issue. All of these agents regulate the pH properly but cause higher corrosion rates. CO2 as a natural component of water is free of any side effects.
