PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Chamber furnaces are usually used to re-melt less contaminated, bulkier aluminum scrap, usually without the addition of additives. The energy requirement for melting is higher in comparison to tiltable rotary drum furnaces. Chamber furnaces are also mainly used as holding and homogenising furnaces before the casting process. Depending on the application, chamber furnaces can be round or rectangular, tiltable or stationary and with one or more chambers.
